That Others May Live

Our Crook County Sheriff's Search and Rescue K-9  team provide highly skilled, professional K-9 Search and Rescue assistance to Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, Mutual Aid, and other Responsible Agencies for strategic and tactical deployment, to assist with the rescue/recovery of missing/lost persons and/or evidence recovery.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Search Dog

The canines involved in search and rescue missions are heroic dogs that optimize their natural abilities to help distressed people.
The main types of work that search dogs can do. These are  generally categorized as airscent (or wilderness), trailing, cadaver (land and water), and disaster.

Meet the K-9 Team

K-9 Blue & Handler Mollie

​

Blue was an 11 year old German Shepherd, National certified tracking dog with North American Police Working Dog Association.  Blue loved to find people, be in the woods and lives to swim. 

 

We recently lost him to cancer, but his dedication and talent pathed the way for future handlers and K-9 within CCSSAR.  Blue will be missed. Thank you for your service!

Loves snoozing on the couch and walks on the beach.

K-9 Ezekiel & Handler Eugene

Born May 27, 2022. 

 

OSSA Wilderness Trailing Certified.

 

Loves camping, coffee and getting the Zumiez on the bed.

OSSA Urban Trailing Certified.

Loves long walks on the beach, snoozing on the couch, and causing a ruckus.

Rose has been certified trough National Search Dogs Alliance, Oregon State Sheriffs Association and Crook County Sheriff.

​

Rose is also trained in live find searches but not yet certified.

​

Our specialty is working cold cases with approval from, and request from the Law Enforcement agency conducting the search.
